LG launches upgraded solar panels
The introduction of two new solar panels with even higher performance was announced today by LG Business Solutions USA. They are the most strong and highest-performing modules to date for the company, according to LG.
This spring, US homebuilders and homeowners will have access to the latest 66-cell NeON R and NeON R Prime modules from LG with Back Touch Technology.
The residential solar panel (left) of the LG NeON R 66-cell has a power output of up to 440W, while the LG NeON R Prime (above) comes with a 425W standard. This places both models among solar panel manufacturers at the maximum-range end of the electricity production spectrum.
The performance of both LG models is up to 22.1 percent . The average performance of solar panels ranges between 15-20 percent, so this is better than what is currently available on the market generally.
According to EnergySage, solar panels typically generate between 250 and 400 watts of electricity, and other factors must, of course, be taken into account in terms of efficiency, such as the size and quantity of the panels, the amount of sunlight they are exposed to, how clean they are, and other environmental factors.
Both panels use Back Contact Technology, which requires all interconnectors to be located on the underside of the cell to maximize the capacity for absorption of sunlight and minimize susceptibility to environmental harm, such as micro-cracks that can increase the loss of energy. The electrodes have been moved to the back as well.
Both panels come with a limited 25-year warranty covering product, durability, and labor. At least 92.5 percent of their tagged power production is guaranteed to be achieved. In both South Korea and the US, LG produces its own solar panels. In 2019, the company launched a solar plant in Huntsville, Alabama.
